Senator Kennedy reception

Reception for Senator Tim Kennedy

Members of the Eighth District Dental Society (EDDS) gathered at The Buffalo Club on May 24th for a reception to support State Senator Tim Kennedy of the 63rd Senate District in his re-election bid this November. Dr. John Nasca, a Buffalo Club member, hosted the event which included past and present officers of the EDDS, NYSDA leaders, dental students and other supporters of the senator, as well as representatives from his office.  The Senator was introduced to the crowd by Oksana Golovina, a legal consultant for NYSDA’s lobbying firm. She praised Senator Kennedy for his support of dentistry in Albany, calling him a friend to our profession. Dr. Brendan Dowd, NYSDA President-Elect, and Dr. Glen Donnarumma, current EDDS President, both offered words of gratitude to the senator for his guidance when Erie County dentists faced onerous legislation last summer, by what was known as the Dental Lab Bill. The senator congratulated us on our successful grassroots effort to contact legislators and push back against the restrictive, unnecessary controls that were proposed. The ADA, NYSDA and the EDDS continue to work to protect our profession and support candidates that have our best interests in mind.
